The grand "Silent Piano" system was designed to capture all the tonal subtleties of the grand piano. Record, playback, play silently, but has a real piano action mechanism. Many professional Yamaha Artists use this instrument on the road.

Upright Silent Pianos

Available on P Series, Radius, U Series, YUS Series and the SU7, you can play with the great sound sampling from CFIIIS concert grand. Recording and playback functions are also available.

When the Silencing function has been activated-either through the center pedal or the silent lever - and a key is struck, the hammer is stopped from striking the string. Optical sensors capture every nuance of play and relay them to a tone generator, which digitally samples the acoustic piano sound and send it to the headphones.
